Have you always wanted to work with animals? Would you like to find out more about birds of prey? Do you want to understand their body language and natural behaviour? Would you like to find out more about yourself?

Discover more about birds of prey than you would on a two day experience, and all for FREE!!

Find out how to handle and care for a huge variety of animals, to help you with your pets at home, or your smallholding, and at no cost to yourself. Have a busmans holiday if you have animals at home! Maybe find another way of caring for them?

Why not spend a five day week working alongside our professional staff learning about the animals and birds. Hands on experience with animals and birds of prey is by far the best way to learn about them, how they interact with each other and with their handlers. Animals have so much to teach us in our own world, and for a few glorious days you can become part of theirs.

Your help with the animals and birds of prey that we have at the Centre is very much appreciated by our staff, and you can take a position of responsibility at the same time in welcoming our customers and clients, showing them around, and telling them about the work you are doing with us.

An unforgettable opportunity of a three-way relationship with animals or birds of prey, our staff and customer interaction. We are looking for volunteers throughout the year, but especially between Easter and the end of September - during your week here you will learn more about yourself, and more about the animals or birds of prey than a two day experience for which you would have to pay, and all for FREE!!
Daily volunteers are also required. One day a week for a committed period of time to fit into our busy calendar. You will be required to help man the shop during the busy part of the day, and the rest of the time you can work with any animals or birds of your choice.
All our volunteers are given the opportunity of riding one of our horses, or taking a hawk for a hawk walk, once we are confident with your expertise. If you would like to do work experience with us please give us a ring to arrange a visit and interview.

VISITOR COMMENTS

On Wednesday July 11th I came to your location for a full day Falconry experience. Falconry is something that I have been nterested in for many years but understand that I can not dedicate the time to do it correctly so have never had the chance to get much exposure to it. The Falconry experience day was a birthday gift from my family, allowing me to spend a little time in the world that you live daily. I just wanted to let you know that my day at your farm was far better than I could have dreamed it being.

I realize that I was lucky that day as I was the only person on the full day experience and was joined by other people only once for the river walk. During the day I had the full attention of Kelly and she was incredible in not only flying the birds with me but providing incredible insight and knowledge in to the world of Falconry. She was a main factor in the success of the day, so please thank her for her time for me. Even having learnt so much, I realize I have so much more to learn and will be keen to re-visit when I am next back in your part of the country.Thank you for making my visit such a wonderful experience.  Mark.

Hi Cathy,

Thanks again for your excellent hospitality on our corporate day out last month.

The guys have asked if they can get a CD with some of the day's photographs on?

Many thanks, Neil

Just wanted to thank you for a lovely time yesterday. We all thoroughly enjoyed our (alpaca) walk and visiting your farm, the animals were so friendly, Matt loved it. He said he wanted to live there and threw a wobbly when it was time to leave as he didnt want to go home, which is praise indeed from him! - Becky

Dear Kelly

We all really enjoyed the flying display and the animal handling this afternoon - and all your information. The large grey owl seeing its reflection was a really interesting moment and real bird behaviour. I am sorry that my photo has not come out better - no time to get the best angle. But for the record, I attach it. You can just make out the reflection (of the bird, the clearer one is my wife!).

With thanks and good wishes,

Chris

Dear Cathy,

Just a brief note to express my gratitude for such an amazing day on Saturday. I knew that Julie had arranged something special but to meet the Buzzard so close up and personal nearly made me weak at the knees! We go to France many time a year and it is the only bird whose name I know in french. we see them here almost every time we go out but they are either on top of telegraph poles or soaring majestically high above. We went to the Pyrenees on a "field trip" once and saw a field with 15 species of orchids within 2 metres of the gate. We also saw just about all the raptors and vultures high up a mountain on the same afteroon. Absolutely fabulous but Saturday was better!

...we will return!  Martin West
